I have a deep interest in, and love for, characters; people; life, and biology. This curiosity and awe for life turned into embarking on the journey of taking psychology on as a profession. I have always felt it an honour to be able to walk alongside people for however brief a period; to witness and partake in their process; and, usher them into the next chapter of their journey. It's an immense privilege to presence others as they navigate personal and sacred spaces of their being.

Psychology is a profound field which is ever growing. It provides an ongoing challenge for me to consistently grow as a professional and individual while feeding my insatiable curiosity and love of knowledge. Through all this I cherish the authentic, warm relationships that I have made and continue to make with my clients, as we work together to tailor therapy to their individual, emergent needs and process.

My Professional Background

I am a registered Clinical Psychologist with over 12 years of experience and have worked in both South Africa and Australia. I have worked in public hospital, private practice and private clinic settings. In this time I worked with individuals, couples, families and have run many workshops in parenting, the mind-body relationship and mindfulness. I have been fortunate to offer talks locally and internationally and have made a variety of media contributions including on radio and magazine articles.

I have trained in, draw on and use: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy; Ego State Therapy; Dialectical Behavioural Therapy; Interpersonal Neurobiology as taught by Dan Siegel; and somatic/trauma approaches like the polyvagal theory orientated frameworks of the Community Resilience Model (as taught by the TRI, CA, USA), the work of Bessel v.d Kolk and Peter Levigne, amongst others. I have trained in psychodynamic, attachment and early life play therapies, and worked with elderly which has allowed me to get a deeper sense of human growth across the human lifespan.

My work and personal development in transpersonal psychology and Jungian constructs, has allowed for me to grow a more holistic, non-pathologizing framework of reference. I have also trained in hypnotherapy and past-life regression, and I am a certified 200-hour Mindfulness and Meditation Teacher, certified Yoga Teacher, and Ishaya Meditation Teacher. The courses I have done in Integrative Medicine and complementary alternative therapies for mental health practitioners create room for all of the above to be held in a holistic framework and orientation.
